Sometimes starting a conversation can be difficult and awkward. I thought maybe we could fix that by giving everyone something to talk about.
Every Tuesday, we’ll post a question. Feel free to discuss, analyze, and scrutinize. Just please respect each other’s opinions and try to be nice. To be fair, the poster will answer the question each week as well.
Your first question is:
What wizard rock songs get stuck in your head most often?
Mine are:
‘It’s Snowing’ from Catchlove and ‘I Found a Loophole’ from The Whomping Willows.
If you have a suggestion for a question, feel free to email freya@wizrocklopedia.com.

No doubt:
I Was A Teenage Werewolf – The Remus Lupins
Krum – Justin Finch Fletchly!
These are stuck in my head at LEAST once a week. The only thing that solves it is singing them aloud, which makes muggles look twice, lemme tell ya…
December 9th, 2008 at 9:31 pm
“I Believe in Nargles” – The Whomping Willows
“Snape vs. Snape” – Ministry of Magic
I sing them in the corridors at work (I do voice work, so I sing them sometimes to warm up) which gains me fewer sideways glances since I’ve foisted a wizrock mixtape on my coworkers.
December 9th, 2008 at 10:01 pm
Aesthetically Pleasing by the Moaning Myrtles and I found a Loophole by Whompy are the ones that are most stuck in my head.
I also found “Guilty by Association” by The Remus Lupins on youtube and had it stuck in my for the last 3 weeks straight. Cant get it out.
December 9th, 2008 at 10:09 pm
‘Wizard Rock Twist’ by The Remus Lupins
I’m surprised that no one’s said that one already…
December 9th, 2008 at 10:09 pm
Really, I have about 30 that rotate in and out of being stuck in my head, jostling each other and bursting in at inopportune moments. Here are some of them:
I Hate You, the Moon – RatL
To Sirius – RatL
Quidditch is my Favorite Sport – The Parselmouths
Volde-who? – GatH
Marietta – Alas Earwax!
Aragog Tonight – Bella’s Love
The Wings Of Me – Buckbeak’s Flight
Pansy Looks Like A Dude – Neville’s Diary
pretty much any song by Fawkes
The Fallen – Danny Dementor
Hey Remus – WW
And Then I Died – MM
I Watch You Slip Away – Split Seven Ways
And so many more. Really, as said before, a couple songs will be stuck in my head for two weeks or so, and then another few songs get stuck. So that’s just a small sample. Good question! I like the idea of Question Tuesdays!
December 9th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
The ones that get stuck in my head the most:
The Tour Song – The Whomping Willows
Merry Christmas, Draco – Catchlove
Question Tuesdays is an awesome idea!
December 9th, 2008 at 11:55 pm
@Jessie: ‘Krum’ has been replace by ‘It’s Snowing’ for me (probably because it’s December). It didn’t help that I have the Krum tshirt, though. Everytime I would open my drawer…
December 10th, 2008 at 12:04 am
Aesthetically Pleasing by the Moaning Myrtles, hands down. I could sing that all day.
Or pretty much anything by the Butterbeer Experience.
December 10th, 2008 at 12:49 am
I get Marked as his Equal songs stuck in my head a lot. Not one specifically, just all of them.
December 10th, 2008 at 1:06 am
Dont let Justin hear that Freya, he’ll just start ripping on Jace…
December 10th, 2008 at 8:34 am
“Save Ginny Weasley” by Harry and the Potters, “Loosen Your Tie” and “Teenage Werewolf” by The Remus Lupins.
I frequently begin to sing these whilst in the hallways at school.
December 10th, 2008 at 10:23 am
I seem to have Flight of the Prince by Oliver Boyd, Cho Chang by The Mudbloods, or What About Myrtle by The Moaning Myrtles stuck most often. Lately though I’ve had the Mudbloods song off of Siriusly Smiling stuck in my head. XD
December 10th, 2008 at 11:43 am
definitely Krum by JFF and Be My Witch by The Mudbloods
December 10th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
Accendio- Ministry of Magic
Party like your evil- Draco and the Malfoys
Save Ginny Weasley- Harry and the Potters
I love those songs!
December 10th, 2008 at 4:44 pm
For me it changes all the time, depending on what I’ve been listening to the most. I almost always have at least one wrock song stuck in my head though, and I’ll go around singing it to myself all day…
The songs I’ve had stuck in my head the most lately are Werewolves > Zombies and Lovely Lily by The Remus Lupins and Choco Ono by The Moaning Myrtles.
December 10th, 2008 at 5:14 pm
Krum-JFF (whenever I look at my KRUM shirt!)
Aragog Tonight-Bella’s Love

My Obsession- Parselmouths
Howl at the Moon-Moaning Myrtles
Revenge (Of the Best Kind)- Obliviate!

By Your Side-The Remus Lupins
December 10th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
I always have a wrock song stuck in my head; it’s like my iTunes is in shuffle in my head. It also depends to what I’ve been listening to. It also gets worse after I go to a show
December 10th, 2008 at 8:16 pm
Wizard Chess – Harry and the Potters
Looking For Trouble – The Remus Lupins
Ode to Lav Lav – Roonil Wazlib
Hagrid’s Back – Huffle My Puffle
December 10th, 2008 at 8:40 pm
Currently:
Hey Remus–Whompy
Brotherly Love– Gred and Forge
What kind of name is Hermione?– The Parselmouths
But usually some TRL song
December 10th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
I always have Draco and Harry by The Whomping Willows stuck in my head. It got kind of awkward once when I was humming it, and one of my friends who has never read HP (*GASP* I know) asked what I was humming and I sang just a bit of the chorus…
I’ve also always got Whompy Stole My Pillow by JFF and Transparent by The Moaning Myrtles stuck in my head. There are others, but I can’t think of any right now. Great question!
December 10th, 2008 at 10:07 pm
Most definitely…
In Which Draco and Harry Secretely Want to Make Out – The Whomping Willows
and
Rodolphus – Bella and le Strangers
December 11th, 2008 at 12:34 am
Mostly Moaning Myrtles songs and with “Transparent” on number one.
December 11th, 2008 at 1:01 am
Most obvious answer: all wrock that I have heard so far.
More specifically: Bravest Man I Ever Knew – Ministry of Magic, making my husband listen to it on repeat, but refusing to explain any of the lyrics prompted him to read his first Harry Potter book, YAY! He started with HBP, but I’ll take what I can get.
Also: In Which Tonks Loses Her Cool – Tonks and the Aurors, because I just bought The Pink Album, and Steph is pretty darn awesome.
December 11th, 2008 at 1:22 am
Red Hair by the Weasel King… ALWAYS getting stuck in my head haha… but I won’t complain.
December 11th, 2008 at 1:58 am
Lately it’s been Lovegood by Ministry of Magic, Aesthetically Pleasing by The Moaning Myrtles, and Save Ginny Weasley from Dean Thomas by Harry and the Potters.
December 11th, 2008 at 3:06 am
I get way, way too many songs stuck in my head all the time. But the one I like to get stuck the best is The Instigators by The Weasel King, most because I end up singing, “We’re the alligaaaatooors.”
December 11th, 2008 at 6:09 am
how can you go past ‘I Was a Teenage Werewolf’ but ‘Fall for Me’ also gets stuck in my head quite a lot.
December 11th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
“Young Sirius Black’s Flying Motorcycle” by the Remus Lupins. Good lord that song is catchy. *Peter PettiGREW I’m comin’ for YOU…*

Hmmm, perhaps this was a bad question to ask. Every new comment gets a different song stuck in my head!
December 11th, 2008 at 4:22 pm
What did you get yourself into, Freya!?
Hundreds of songs will be going round and round in your head tomorrow!

And don’t EVEN get me started on The Ballad of Mr Percy Weasley by Peeved!
December 11th, 2008 at 4:41 pm

December 11th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
Yeah, “Krum” has been busting in a lot recently for me, since reading all the comments…
December 11th, 2008 at 8:42 pm
‘Follow the Red Sparks’ – The Weasle King
December 12th, 2008 at 1:16 am
@Scott: Death Eater Disco! I forgot about that song.
“John Travolta got hit with green light…”
Maybe I’ll make a playlist with all of these songs. That might cure me.
December 12th, 2008 at 3:55 am
At the moment..
Harry and the Potters – Cornelius Fudge Is An Ass
Oliver Boyd & the Remembralls – Lupin’s Tale
The Mudbloods – Zombies!
Plenty of others pop up regularly, though.
December 12th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
it depends what I’ve been listening to but the ones that return time and again are:
Snape vs Snape – Ministry of Magic
Beans – Riddle TM
March of the Deatheaters – Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office
Mandrake’s Lament – Butterbeer Experience
Ballad of Mr Percy Weasley – Peeved
Slytherin Hearts – Split Seven Ways
Cedric – Moaning Myrtles
Covah Yr Junk – Big Whompy
Tonsil Hockey Team – Harry and the Potters
The Fate of Severus Snape – Remus Lupins (really just for that fantastic line “every day a perplexing paradox to elucidate”!)
December 12th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
Honestly, as jerk as I am, I get my own song, Voldy is a Waste, stuck in my head all the freaking time.
but yeah, ditto on basically anything whompy, lupiny, pottery, malfoy-y, or weasel kingy.
December 12th, 2008 at 7:50 pm
pretty much any song by Split Seven Ways
Evil is Sexy by Voldemort
All I Think About by the Moaning Myrtles/Mudbloods
Expectro Patronum by Remus and the Lupins
December 13th, 2008 at 12:45 am
Definitely “Umbridge is Dumbridge” by JFF, lately “The Bravest Man I Ever Knew” and anything else by MoM, since I saw them at the Bryn Mawr Yule Ball. “Thestrals in Heat” the most under-rated DatM song and basically the rest depends on my mood! Boston Yule Ball coming up!
December 13th, 2008 at 1:48 am
Pretty much all WRock gets stuck in my head, but specifically:
‘Krum’ – JFF
‘Run Free’ – Marked as his Equal
‘Accio Hot Guy’ – The Butterbeer Experience
December 13th, 2008 at 6:11 am
Draco and Harry by the Whomping Willows for sure. I often start singing it when I’m doing the washing up.
Anything by DatM is super catchy… It’s just something about the lyrics…
December 13th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Right now I have Elvis Costello stuck in my head. He’s basically a wizard.
December 13th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Mine are Aesthetically Pleasing, the Moaning Myrtles and What Kind of Name is Hermione, the Parselmouths.
December 14th, 2008 at 12:08 am
It’s usually the wrock song I last listened to:P
Right now, though, the Moaning Myrtles have had a hook on my during math class!
December 14th, 2008 at 10:41 am
Another day, another all too catchy wrock song.
“In Which Moaning Myrtle Moans”
Murder! In the bathroom!
I also have a habit of randomly shouting “It’s Time. To Party. Like. You’re. Evil” all the time
December 14th, 2008 at 11:59 am
After the UK Yule Ball yesterday We’re Having A Whale by Siriusly Hazza P has got out it’s sleeping bag, pitched it’s tent and has a pot of nettle soup simmering over the fire in my head.
December 14th, 2008 at 2:11 pm
I guess I also get ‘the hero’(M.O.M), and ‘Oh Holey Night’ stuck in my head quite a lot.
December 14th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
“Oh Holey Night”, “I Heart Weasleys”, and “The Bravest Man I Ever Knew”- Ministry of Magic
“Thestrals”- Riddle TM
December 15th, 2008 at 8:06 am
AH HAH! I’ve just discovered that the song that’s been in my head since Terminus is Expecto Patronum by Remus and the Lupins!! Think of something happy, think of something happy, it could be complicated or it could be short and snappy…. <3
December 15th, 2008 at 5:50 pm
Probably “Wizard Rock Twist” by The Remus Lupins. But I usually just get random lyrics of a bunch of wrock songs stuck in my head. It’s like a constant wrock soundtrack, but I keep skipping around!
December 15th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
It really depends on what I’ve been listening to lately. Recently, I’ve had Brotherly Love (Gred and Forge), Oh! Christmas Tree (Big Whompy), It’s Snowing (Catchlove), and Cho Chang (the Mudbloods) stuck in my head a lot. Plus a bunch of Moaning Myrtles songs.
And after reading all these comments above, I had to go find “Guilty by Association” on YouTube (because I’d never heard it before), so now it’s stuck in my head too!
Also, I have an idea for another Question Tuesday question. You should ask if anyone’s ever had wrock-related dreams. I know I have. Like, this one time, JK Rowling randomly came over to my house and we sat around listening to wizard rock together. It was pretty cool.
January 4th, 2009 at 11:44 pm
ooh my faves are
I Believe In Nargles – The Whomping Willows
I Was A Teenage Werewolf – The Remus Lupins
Save Ginny Weasley From Dean Thomas – Harry And The Potters

Lately its been;

April 29th, 2009 at 10:50 pm
Probably the biggest of mine are Forget My Scars by Split Seven Ways, Don’t Make Me Ride That Bike by Split Seven Ways, Prerequisites by The Parselmouths and Wizard Rock Heart Throb by The Whomping Willows.
And maybe Cho Chang Shake Your Thang by Swish and Flick, Teenage Werewolf by The Remus Lupins and The Year that Harry Went Emo by peeved.
