The nominations are in, and it’s time for the final round of voting for the Wizard Rock People’s Choice Awards!
There were hundreds of votes submitted, and Dinah, Art, and I exchanged something like 75 emails this weekend and yesterday while we counted them. Each of us counted separately and then compared results to make sure that we had the most accurate numbers possible.
Lots of the votes were very close, so we will be posting an entry with some of the runners-up (probably tomorrow), because they certainly deserve credit as well.
We didn’t explicitly state this for the nominations, but you are only allowed to vote once. Not once per email, but once per person. We found ballots that were clearly attempts to sway the vote. This time around, if we find votes like this, all of your votes will be thrown out, not just the repeat voting.
For the International category, you can vote for two bands, so make sure you pick two! And don’t forget to write in your nomination for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Voting will run until Friday, May 15th. Just like last time, you need to verify your votes by clicking on the link in the email you receive.

Can my confirmation email be resent to me? It got stuck in my junk mail folder, so I clicked “marked as safe”, assuming it would be moved to my inbox, but it wasn’t? I just voted!!!!! very exciting. but it was soooo hard. can’t we just have a winner and like four or five or six runners up. but it’s so cool. I’ve got a lot of new bands to start looking up. i love that this gives an idea of what to look for in some of the lesser known bands plus giving credit to the more well known.

Too bad The Purebloods aren’t nominated for anything…but I’ll get those girls an award yet.

Still can’t believe the Malfoys didn’t get nominated for Best Live Act. Their Wrock Chicago show was incredible and although I didn’t go to Wrock Reggies I heard all the stories

@Georgia As long as a song was on an album that was released in ‘08, we said it qualified, even if the song had been released previously. There were a couple like that.
