Our goal is always to make sure that this site is here primarily for the fans and addressing YOUR wants and needs. After reading the comments on Dinah’s opinion article regarding the Wizrocklopedia in general, I got to thinking. So, here’s a serious question for you guys.
Do you get most of your wizard rock news from us? Or are we simply rehashing what you see on MySpace/Facebook on a regular basis?
Thanks for your honest replies! Information like this helps us to make sure you are getting out of the ‘pedia as much as we can give you.

Yes, I get most wrock news from the ‘pedia. This site is just pure genius : after all, there are so many bands that’s hard to follows everything, and the weekly wrap up is therefore very useful. Another thing that is great is that I feel it’s a sort of HQ for wrockers and fans (I don’t really how to express how I feel exactly but it’s the closest I can get to). It is nice to have nearly everything (news, pics, other) on a single site. To tell the truth, I check the Wizrocklopedia every other day or so. So thanks for the energy you guys put in this site, it’s really awesome !

I get all my news from here. I dont use myspace and don’t wanna clutter my facebook with being a fan or joining hundreads of groups.
I like the idea of expanding the Wizrocklopedia into something with more substance/personality and discussion. I’m not always going to agree with the OPINION ARTICLES (I also think thats a better banner then OPINIONS. It is still an article after all and not just a vague opinion) but it will get my mind thinking and sparks intellectual discussion.
It also allows us all to interact more which is always a good thing. Especially between the fans and the Wrock bands who some of us are to shy to approach when we go to shows and stuff. (I know they are all friendly and approachable yada yada yada
But some fans will still be intimidated)

Sometimes I will get news from the band’s twitters or their myspaces, but mostly I actually get it from here

I agree with James. I like the open discussion and commentary. I like the idea of a central location for all things Wizard Rock. Yes, Facebook is an EXCELLENT promotional tool. Probably more so than the Pedia can be. But I am looking forward to seeing the Pedia grow and expand and serve as a location for the fans to converge.

You, you, a thousand times you! I get all my WRock news from the ‘Pedia… which I then disseminate to my own reader.

I get most of my Wrock news from you. I get some other news by following several Wrock artists/bands on twitter.
June 23rd, 2009 at 1:05 pm
I get news either from bands themselves (if I actively keep up with them) or from the ‘pedia. I think the ‘pedia twitter account is the most newsy wizard rock thing I keep up with, honestly.
June 23rd, 2009 at 1:13 pm
That’s good to know, Grace! We’ll make sure to continue updating it with relevant RTs from Wrockers and mentioning whenever we post new information or articles!
June 23rd, 2009 at 1:26 pm
Oh I get almost all of it from here. Especially now since myspace hasn’t been working for my desktop. I sometimes stumble across news from twitter but other than that it’s practically always from the ‘pedia.
June 23rd, 2009 at 2:32 pm
It’s a combination of here and myspace.
June 23rd, 2009 at 2:42 pm
Some of the stuff I read here I already know from the bands’ Twitters, but mostly I get my news from you guys. There’s too many bands for one little Julia to follow on facebook/myspace/twitter.
June 23rd, 2009 at 3:44 pm
I get most of my news from here and from the bands’ Twitter updates. I also really, really love the ‘pedia Twitter.
June 23rd, 2009 at 3:58 pm
For the most part if it isn’t on here or facebook, I probably don’t know about it.
June 23rd, 2009 at 5:51 pm
Oh, of course I get my news from the ‘pedia… Either that or directly from Freya… haha. I also sometimes check myspaces and twitters when I get bored….

I get all my news from here, so don’t you dare consider not posting it! :p
June 23rd, 2009 at 7:49 pm
I get most of my news from here too. I’m subscribed to some bands’ myspace blogs, but only a couple, and the ‘pedia informs me about new bands…
June 23rd, 2009 at 10:35 pm
I get my wrock news from here, mostly.

Most of my news I get from the ‘pedia. I just can’t catch all the news myself.

Mostly from youtube, and on the blogs of my favorite Wrockers.
June 24th, 2009 at 3:02 pm
I get a lot of the news from this website. However, I get most of the concert times off the myspace pages.
June 24th, 2009 at 7:03 pm
Both from here and myspace. I’m subscribed to some bands’ myspace blogs, but here all the information is in one convenient place.

I get most of my news from other sources, but I think I would end up visiting the ‘Pedia more if more opinion pieces spark such debate among the fandom. I think we’re at a bit of a crossroads in this fandom, and people are unsure in a lot of ways where to take it next. I think it’s useful to have a site like this where one can find news, information, community, and a lively debate all in one place. Great job on everything thus far, ladies

I get most of my news from the wizrocklopedia. It’s just a lot easier to have it all in one place here than trying to keep up with so many different things.
June 25th, 2009 at 5:23 pm
I’ve depended on Wizrocklopedia for Wizard Rock news and info since I started getting interested in 2007. How I found out Wrock existed was from the little mention of the ‘pedia in Entertainment Weekly.
I’m now also enjoying the news from bands and fans on Twitter — but I found out about that from the ‘pedia too! The ‘pedia Twitter update about the Harry & the Potters 500th show live on u-stream got me there in time to see some of it.
I think of Wizrocklopedia as a portal to the Wrock universe for new people, and a sort of crossroads where the fans can meet interact.
June 26th, 2009 at 12:32 am
I’ve been on the Wizrocklopedia almost daily since I really started getting into wrock. It’s been my main source of info for everything. I don’t have EVERY single band added as a friend on MySpace, so this is a place where I learn of new upcoming bands.
June 26th, 2009 at 4:28 pm
i get all wrock news from u. i go on here every day!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:57 pm
Y’all are doing a great job. Just the right mix of news, editorial, and most important of all – community. It’s fun for an “old fart” like me to watch this community growing and changing.
June 30th, 2009 at 3:56 am
Yeah, most of it I hear from here.
July 6th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
I usually don’t have time to read most bulletins and blogs, so this is a great place to get Wizard Rock news, since it’s still updated pretty regularly.
Though, and this might sounds silly/petty, i feel like the banner picture ( this, http://wizrocklopedia.com/wp-content/themes/freshnews/thumb.php?src=http://wizrocklopedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/question_tuesday1.jpg&h=95&w=540&zc=1&q=80 for example, ) on each news post isn’t really necessary, since the title of each news post already has it. It’s not the end of the world, it just seems like it kind of gets in the way.

Just realized the rest of my message got cut off. Anyways…
Keep up the good work, we’re still reading and I think you guys continue to do an excellent job on the site! Thanks for all that you do!
