#MuggleMusicMonday for the minibosses

This past weekend, my roommate and I had a very small “house warming” party. It was just a small group of friends in the end, but we wanted to have extra fun and gave it a theme: video games. One friend showed up in a fantastic Luigi costume, I was a paddle from Pong, and another just wore a t-shirt with the PacMan ghosts across it. We spent our night drinking, playing the new Super Mario on Wii, and (you guessed it) listening to music!

I quickly found that the most epic music we could listen to while playing Mario was the band minibosses. This band is an instrumental, video game rock band. I’m honestly not sure how else to describe their music. They make rock versions of video game themes, and it’s totally awesome!

The clincher on the minibosses? They have their album Brass available for free download on their site! So seriously… check them out, download their album, and play some video games! How often are you encouraged to do that?

    Yeah for the minibosses!!!

FYI, if you dig this, a really good resource for VGIM (Video Game Inspired Music, i.e. stuff like this, as well as chiptunes or 8-bit) is the blog Game Music For All http://gamemusic4all.blogspot.com/
