Question Tuesday

Question Tuesday

Since we’re in the midst of of Hanukkah, and a mere 10 days away from Christmas, like me, I’m guessing a lot of you are listening to Jingle Spells 3.

What’s your favorite song on this year’s compilation of wizard holiday music?

I love Christmas music in general, so my absolute favorite on this album is a version of my favorite carol, ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’ by Tonks and the Aurors. Mary and the GrandPre‘s ‘Sleigh RIDE’ and The Moaning Myrtles‘ ‘It’s Not Christmas’ are also constantly stuck in my head, and hearing The Remus Lupins‘ guitar version of ‘Hava Nagila’ in ‘Light the Castle Up’ is not to be missed!

“God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” is my favorite, too! “Sonorus” and “It’s Not Christmas” are tied for a verrrrryyyyyy close second.

  2. dcsbelle Says:

Wow, that’s a toughie. I have to say my most listened to songs are “Sonorus” ans “Malfoy for Christmas.” That being said, I have to admit I love them all–even MC Kreacher’s outrageously funny lyrics–and Draco and the Malfoys have me wanting to go around telling everyone to “Jingle This!” I’ve been using snippets of the lyrics from JS 1, 2 and 3 as my facebook status updates every day until Christmas.

I ordered the physical copy which hasn’t arrived… but I think they shipped yesterday so I’ll get it this week! I’m so excited!!

  4. Helen Myrtle Dyes Her Hair (Formerly hf.gal) Says:

I’m listening to the samples right now because I’ve put in on my Christmas list so hopefully…

  5. Freya Says:

Oh, how did I forget about ‘Sonorous’?! It’s so beautiful. Amy has the loveliest voice.
Seriously, the whole album is pretty spectacular.

  6. Laura Says:

I’m still waiting for the CD. I’ve been listening to all the other Christmas wrock I have though. :-)

  7. Lizz Says:

My collection of wizard rock holiday tunes suffers greatly. I would very much like to procure myself a copy of JS3 (and 2) but will have to wait to do so until Friday… when I’m paid.

Someone spent too much money on presents this year! Lolz.

But I listened to the previews and they’re all amazing. I don’t think I could pick one as a favorite. I’m gonna default to “Christmas at Hogwarts” from A Magical Christmas of Magic.

  8. Whompy Says:

MC Kreacher and Mary and the GrandPres totally own it. In my opinion. :) But this is seriously my favorite wizard rock comp of all time. It’s great from start to finish and so unique as a whole. A lot of bands switched up styles and put out something really original. I love it.

  9. Zivlok Says:

I’ve only heard the MC Kreacher track, because it is the free, but it’s absolutely amazing. Which really isn’t surprising by now, but still…

  10. James Says:

I have only heard Sonorus so far. Haven’t had the funds to order the album yet. Im completely in love with Sonorus though and i can’t imagine any other song will capture my attention and adoration more then Sonorus.

  11. Joella Says:

I’m only about halfway through the album, and I have to say that the Myrtles’ track “It’s Not Christmas” is my favorite so far =]

  12. Maggie Says:

I think the funniest is House Elf Party. The most adorable is Decorate Me. The most heart-wrenching is It’s Not Christmas, and the most beautiful is Celebrate the Day.

But they’re all so good!! Oh hooray!

  13. Scribbled Says:

I love the Myrtles’ track, “It’s Not Christmas,” though “Sonorus” came to a close second.
