Article on MTV.com
MTV has continued their coverage on wizard rock and published an article on their website. Quoting many of our favorite wrockstars, the article explains the phenomenon of wizard rock and describes how the bands are “trying to save the world like Harry.” They mention the Wizards and Muggles Rock for Social Justice compilation.
The article focuses on the parallel between Harry Potter’s world and our own, and shows that the themes in wizard rock are ones everyone can relate to, whether they are fans of the books or not. Paul DeGeorge is quoted saying, “Our songs, like the books, are really about the real world, so that people can find meaning to it outside of the fact that it’s about Harry Potter.”
