Wrock Hits the News

Sibling band The Nifflers was featured in the Toronto Star last week. The article discussed how the band came to be and gave some of the lyrics to their song “The Burrow.” You can see a scan of the article in their blog.

ABC News Channel 23 in Bakersfield, CA had a lot to say on the matter of a band’s song about Hermione Granger. While the band, Dirty Spanglish, isn’t a wizard rock band, their song was still influenced by the Harry Potter series and goes to show how much the books affect pop culture today. Cincinnati.Com’s weekly newsletter had a cover story about The Whomping Willows. It discusses the “Origin of Whompy” and “The Fans” while highlighting some of the best things about wizard rock. Check it out!

The Moaning Myrtles have once again made the news, this time on DailyRecord.Com. The Daily Record explains how the band got started, as well as how the girls feel now that the series is done. The article can be read here.

Thanks for the ABC 23 plug! And thanks for the awesome quotes. Now check out a blog article, “Dirty Spanglish at media-crazy Harry Potter Book Release in Pasadena’s Vromans.”

    It’s very wiz-rockish.
