Job Openings
A firm grasp of the English language is required for each position. Applicants to any Staff Position must email lizz at wizrocklopedia dot com with a writing sample. This can be a few paragraphs about a) how you got into wizard rock, b) who your favorite band is and why, or c) how wizard rock has changed your life. Applicants to Contributing Positions should contact the email addresses provided. Positions that are full will be noted.
Staff Positions
News Poster
Requires one to two hours of work per week, familiarity with MySpace, and basic knowledge of HTML or blogging software. News Posters have access to our private MySpace account where we are subscribed to every band’s blog. Posters login to the account and check for new blogs and bulletins and find newsworthy developments to inform people of, such as new songs, album announcements, and tour updates. We do not copy and paste information. You are required to reword information you find. We are not currently accepting applications for this position.
Reporter
We’re looking for investigative reporters with a desire to write about current events. Examples of what we’re looking for include our column Straight from the Dinah Saur’s Mouth. It will require you to email bands or event organizers with original questions concerning albums, tours, concerts, etc., one to two hours per week. Reporters can also contribute Concert Write-Ups as a part of their quota.
Department Head
These are creative positions with a lot of responsibility. They require individuals to think on their feet and make decisions on their own. Applicants cannot be worried about making authoritative decisions. Department Heads will be in charge of various areas such as Photo Galleries, Humor, WRPCA, Videos, and Contests. We are currently accepting applications for the position of Artwork, Contest, and WRPCA Department Head. Please email an inquiry for more information about each position.
Staff Benefits
We cannot currently pay regular staff members, but are able to provide the following benefits. Staff activity will be monitored and recorded as a quota. Those who fill their quotas will be able to reap the following rewards.
Contributing Positions
Anyone contributing content will be added to our list of Contributors that appears on our Staff page. A link to your MySpace, Facebook email, or website can be included as well.

If you would like to write a review for our column Two Takes, please consult the column’s Contribution Guidelines.
Location Writer
Anyone interested in covering events and shows in their area can supply Concert Write-Ups. Email lizz at wizrocklopedia dot com with submissions. Credit, as always, is given to the writer.
Interviewer
We are expanding our Band of the Month feature to enable everyone to submit interview questions. If you’ve ever wanted to interview your favorite wizard rock band, this is your opportunity. Your only requirement is to submit 15-22 original questions directed toward a band we have not yet featured as Band of the Month. If we choose your questions, we will contact the band to see if they’re interested. Credit will be given to the writer. A link can be provided as well. Questions should be emailed to lizz at wizrocklopedia dot com.
Photographer
To submit photos from wizard rock concerts and events to our gallery, please send them via email to photos at wizrocklopedia dot com in zip format through a service such as YouSendIt or MegaUpload. We will be moving our galleries to an on site location (as opposed to Flickr) in the future. Please include the name with which you want to be credited as well as a website, if applicable. Also tell us where the photos were taken and when.
Videographer
Individuals wanting to supply video footage from events for use on the Wizrocklopedia’s YouTube channel can send them through a service such as YouSendIt or MegaUpload to videos at wizrocklopedia dot com. Please indicate that your submission is for use on our YouTube channel. include the name with which you want to be credited as well as a website, if applicable. Also tell us where the video was taken and when.
Graphic Artist
Anyone who would like to contribute to our gallery of wallpapers, userpics, and fanart can do so by emailing artwork at wizrocklopedia dot com. Credit and a link will be given to the artist. Submissions should be sent to artwork at wizrocklopedia dot com.

Staff Bio
Staff members will be given bios on our Staff page where they can share with readers information about themselves and their endeavors.
Badges
Wizrocklopedia staff members will be issued buttons to indicate their status as official, current staff. These badges will display our logo, the staffer’s name, a date of issue and a date of expiration. While these badges won’t guarantee you access to anywhere special, security at some concerts may allow you increased access to stage areas. Badges have expiration dates because of this, in order to prevent fraud.
T-Shirts
Wizrocklopedia t-shirts are sold to staffers at a very discounted rate of $6. New staff members must contribute for at least three weeks before requesting a shirt.
Free Music
As a wizard rock fan, we couldn’t think of a better way to reimburse our staff members’ efforts! After each staff member has completed a month’s work they will receive a free wizard rock CD of their choosing via email. We maintain a vast collection of music and can acquire any album a staff member might desire.
